“Twisted American sportswear. A second glance at classics: prim cardigans are slashed through the sleeves; sweatpants are knit in Japanese brushed jersey; sweaters are embroidered to look like tweed. A wardrobe collected over time, where each piece becomes irreplaceable: the perfect blazer, a favorite dress, a worn-in sweatshirt. Women are defining ‘classic’ for themselves.”

SILHOUETTES: Sportswear classics are twisted, sometimes literally, to become something different. Banker shirts flare generously at the cuffs; sleeves of cardigans are sliced, twisted, and pinned at the shoulder; shirtdresses curve around the body, constructed on a spiral pattern.
FABRICATIONS: Luxurious materials are used in counterintuitive ways. A cut-out dress is sculpted from corduroy; a quarter-zip “fleece” is actually needle-punched wool; sequins float over the body in a trompe l’oeil knit dress; sweatpants and rugbies come in plush Japanese jersey. Many fabrics were developed to look worn: brushed alpaca, fraying tweed, a wrinkled velvet threaded with metal.
HANDBAGS: Each handbag is irresistibly soft, including our Pierced bag and Balloon bag, crafted in leathers typically reserved for shoes. Our signature Eleanor bag was deconstructed and reimagined in pillowy leather, alongside our best-selling Romy bucket bag in cognac suede and faux croc.
SHOES: Heels, zippers, seams, even the linings of shoes are off-kilter. The Twisted Pump of Spring/Summer 2025 returns as a distorted T-strap and slingback sandal, and a new riding boot and monk strap have super-elongated, pointed toes.
JEWELRY & ACCESSORIES: The collection’s relaxed attitude is thrown by a touch of ’70s glitz: shoulder-dusting chains, watch band bracelets, gold-tone sunglasses. Tiny mouse earrings follow recent seasons’ aliens, octopi, cows, and other creatures. Oversized pins are stuck through sweaters and coats, and crystal flower brooches adorn sandals.
THE SHOW: A special thank you to the Museum of Modern Art. Wladimir Schall produced the music, which included “Haha” by Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul; “Magic Carillon” by Rose; “Hot on the Heels of Love” by Throbbing Gristle; and “Now I Need You” by Donna Summer.
