On Friday, June 16, Valentino held Valentino The Narratives to show the Spring/Summer 2024 menswear collection in Milan, Italy. The Maison stated that it is “An ongoing dialogue on what makes a man today.”
Breaking with the coed format of recent seasons, Valentino presented its solo menswear show at Università degli Studi di Milano, in the city where Valentino Garavani himself staged his very first mens show in 1985, and Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli gave way to a freeing story, welcoming students and the public to experience the collection.
The collection was propelled in a defiant direction, seen through embroidered floral touches, complex and considered shapes, and clean and elegant Valentino Garavani accessories. Flowers serve as a symbol of life itself; transience made permanent atop garments at Valentino The Narratives. As symbols of affection and tenderness, the flower is both a graphic decoration and a replacement for the rigid structures of traditional tailoring.
Global celebrities spotted at the show, including Jacob Elordi, Jeff Satur, Yang Yang, and more, caught the crowd’s attention with their Valentino looks. Moreover, American singer-songwriter d4vd performed at the centre of Valentino The Narratives, setting a soundtrack to Pierpaolo Piccioli’s meditation on the past, present, and future of masculinity.
