On June 26, 2024, we invited our media friends to experience a live demonstration of Berluti tattoo service at our Plaza Indonesia boutique. This event provided an intimate look at the intricate process of leather tattooing by our validated tattooist, showcasing the skill and precision involved.
Attendees witnessed how each design is meticulously etched into the leather, turning a luxury accessory into a personalised masterpiece. Beyond witnessing the tattooing artistry, attendees had the exclusive opportunity to explore Berluti’s latest collections.
An Exacting Artisanal Process
The first step involves removing the wax that protects the leather, a process that opens the pores and prepares the surface for inking. With the wax removed, the leather is ready to be traced. Our validated tattooist traces the chosen design onto the leather, ensuring precision and accuracy. This careful tracing is crucial, as it serves as the foundation for the tattoo.
Now comes the heart of the transformation: the tattooing process. Using a special ink, our tattooist begins to etch the design into the leather, point by point. Each stroke of the needle infuses the leather with pigments, creating a design that is both permanent and exquisite.
