A Fresh Vision: CHANEL Unveils Spring-Summer 2025 Eyewear Campaign

The CHANEL Spring-Summer 2025 Eyewear campaign starring Lupita Nyong’o, Margaret Qualley, Nana Komatsu and Kendrick Lamar

What lies behind the frame? The CHANEL Spring-Summer 2025 Eyewear campaign offers a bold study in character, embodied by four faces of a generation: actresses Lupita Nyong’o, Margaret Qualley and Nana Komatsu, and musician Kendrick Lamar.

Featuring a community of familiar CHANEL ambassadors photographed by Karim Sadli, the images are bold and expressive, nimbly exploring the idea of eyewear as a window to the creative soul. Each of the campaign’s four stars exemplify talent in its potent form and artistry at its most courageous.

Wearing a series of iconic frames and new styles, they capture the enduring allure of CHANEL – where audacity of vision meets elegant precision. All the frames featured balance CHANEL’s timeless signatures with design flair: hardware demands attention, while shapes nod to retro silhouettes while being effortlessly modern.

CHANEL ambassador and Grammy and Pulitzer-prize winning artist Kendrick Lamar is a performer at the top of his game. He is joined in the campaign by Japanese actress and CHANEL ambassador Nana Komatsu, best known for her daring work in films including World of Kanako, Silence and The Last 10 Years. Also featured is American actress and longtime ambassador of the House Margaret Qualley, whose latest film The Substance was widely acclaimed. Academy Award-winning Kenyan actress, producer, and New York Times Bestselling author Lupita Nyong’o completes the quartet. A close friend of the House for more than ten years, Nyong’o was, last October, named a CHANEL ambassador – with these portraits marking her debut as the face of a CHANEL campaign.

The campaign as seen by…

Lupita Nyong’o:

“The House of CHANEL was one of my first supporters. I remember wearing CHANEL as early as 2013 when my first film, ‘12  ears a Slave,’ was released. Over the years, the House has often invited me to shows and events and has always treated me with the utmost care. So, when they approached me to be an ambassador and to be the face of a campaign, I felt very honored and ready. CHANEL is an important historical brand, and I’m very happy and proud to add to that legacy.”

“With CHANEL, there is a dedication to the liberty of the modern woman that resonates with me, a desire to uplift her and support her expression, comfort and movement. I like that this message is sent with imagination and joy in every CHANEL piece. CHANEL eyewear is extremely well-built, the designs are exquisite and can be worn with both a casual and more formal look. I love that they range from eye-catching to elegantly understated. And they also happen to be very comfortable.”

“Eyes are often the first point of connection with people; glasses are an excellent way to express something immediate about myself. And of course, sunglasses add a touch of attitude and mystery to an outfit.”

Margaret Qualley:

“I’ve been working with CHANEL for over a decade now, first as a baby model and now of course as an actress. The fact that they cast me when I was sixteen made me feel so special, and the honor is not lost on me now. I’m very grateful to be a part of the CHANEL family.”

“I love glasses so I can hide. CHANEL glasses are special because they hold mystery. Suddenly you’re Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly, you’re signaling that you’ve got secrets.”

Nana Komatsu:

“Eyewear adds spice to your style and sometimes balances out an overly formal outfit. CHANEL eyewear is not just a fashion item but is a crucial piece to express my character and mood. It brings out new sides of me beyond female elegance, such as my slightly punk and playful side.”

“CHANEL’s concept of ‘paradox’ is an important code to me. The coexistence of contrasting elements such as strength and delicacy, modern and classic, and simplicity and elegance have something in common with my style as well as my form of expression. Gabrielle Chanel’s attitude to life has been a big source of inspiration for me: her free spirit and her stance of not being bound by existing rules.”

Kendrick Lamar:

“CHANEL has a timeless legacy and that is always something I can get behind. Since they don’t make clothes for men, I knew it would have to be glasses.”
